About Our School
The first block was laid for St. Paul’s Primary School in 1980 and completed in 1981 at a cost of £635,000. In May 2019 the sod was turned for a brand new building on the site of the old football pitch. The new building comprising of 32 classrooms, 2 room Special Unit and all mod cons cost over €9million!
We are a school with 38 teaching staff, over 700 pupils, 3 special needs assistants and 5 ancillary staff. Our school has a catholic ethos. We aim to be accommodating of diversity in race, culture, religion, gender and ability. Our warm, respectful and welcoming community aims to provide a safe and happy learning environment for all our pupils.
Our facilities include:
- Top-of-the-range Interactive Flat Panels in every classroom.
- Frequent access to full class sets of Chromebooks and iPads for educational use.
- Extensive sports facilities including indoor halls, 4 basketball courts, full size all-weather pitch (to be completed late 2021 / early 2022) and playgrounds.
- Extensive range of newly purchased PE equipment to compliment our new facilities
- Range of musical instruments and resources to facilitate the teaching and learning of the Music Curriculum
- New school library, and libraries in every classroom
- After School Activities

📣 Standing Together Today
Today, St. Paul’s staff joined INTO and Forsa union members and public service workers across the country in strike action, calling for meaningful negotiations and a fair public service pay agreement.
A huge thank you for all the support we received on the picket line — the waves, beeps, messages and kind words were really appreciated. 💜
Special thanks to the parents and pupils who brought us buns, biscuits and treats, and to Daybreak across the road for very kindly supplying water, Lucozade and sandwiches. 🥪💧
We really appreciated the support from our whole school community. 💜

📱 PARENTS – AN IMPORTANT FREE WEBINAR | WEDNESDAY, 14 OCTOBER
As parents, do we really know what our children are being exposed to online?
Next Wednesday, Alex Cooney, CEO of CyberSafeKids, and Dr Richard Hogan will host an important FREE webinar exploring the challenges of keeping our children safe in an increasingly digital world.
Topics will include:
🎮 Online gaming – the risks parents need to understand.
📱 Harmful content – what children may be exposed to on social media and online platforms.
⚠️ Online abuse and inappropriate material – recognising the dangers and knowing how to protect our children.
This promises to be an incredibly valuable and informative session, offering practical advice to help us navigate the online world our children are growing up in.
I would strongly encourage every parent to attend. These are issues that affect all our children, often at a much younger age than we might realise.

Míle buíochas to the many teachers who have worked towards this achievement, with a special mention to Mr P. McCabe, who has championed and led the initiative over the past two years, alongside Ms Lynch, Ms Williams and Ms Brogan agus na múinteoirí uilig.
Bhí sé go hálainn fáilte a chur ar ais roimh Ms Gillen, who championed Gaeilge throughout her years in St Paul’s, and who did us the honour of raising our Gaelbhratach today. We were also delighted to welcome Síofra Ní Nualláin from Gaelbhratach to celebrate with us. 🇮🇪

We wish to extend an invite to you all to attend our annual Parents’ Association AGM (Annual General Meeting).
It takes place this evening at 7pm (1st October) in our school library. Everyone is welcome to come and join the Parents’ Association, formally or informally.
Our active parents’ association are integral to our school. They help out with so many events and occasions during the year all to benefit the children in our school.
Annually, they host coffee mornings, family table quiz, after-communion party in the hall, after-confirmation party in the hall, graduation ceremony and much more.
They fundraise money for different opportunities for the children and they are regularly seen around the school helping out.
This year we would love NEW parents to come along as well as those that have been involved for many years. Even, if you are willing to help out occasionally we would love to see you on the night and explain more. Tea and coffee will be served before the meeting. It will last a maximum of one hour.

🏆🇮🇪 ALL-IRELAND DAY! 🇮🇪🏆
It’s All-Ireland Day, and there’s even more excitement for St. Paul’s as one of our very own pupils, Áine, takes to the hallowed turf of Croke Park during the half-time exhibition game at the All-Ireland Senior Football Final!
After St. Paul’s won the Mini 7s competition earlier this year, Áine earned the fantastic opportunity to represent our school on one of the biggest stages in Gaelic Games. What an incredible reward for all the hard work, teamwork and dedication shown by our Mini 7s champions.
We are so proud of Áine and thrilled to see one of our own representing St. Paul’s in Croke Park today.
Best of luck, Áine! Enjoy every second, soak up the atmosphere and make memories that will last a lifetime. 💙🏐

🎤✨ St. Paul’s Got Talent 2026 ✨🎤
Today we held our 4th annual St. Paul’s Got Talent, and what an incredible afternoon it was! With over 25 amazing acts, the standard was unbelievably high, making it one of our toughest competitions yet.
From card tricks 🃏 to Irish dancing ☘️, singing 🎶, original song compositions 🎼, gymnastics 🤸 and so much more, our students wowed us with their talent, creativity and confidence.
A huge thank you to our fantastic guest judges:
⭐ Fran McKeown, fresh (?!) from completing the incredible 337km Borderline Madness Run in aid of our school
🙏 Fr. Robert, our school chaplain
🎓 Ruben Kelly, our 6th Class Student Council representative
🍎 Jackie Sheridan, teacher and special guest as she prepares for her retirement at the end of this week
After much deliberation, prizes were awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in both the junior and senior categories 🏆👏
Every student who took part received a certificate of participation, and most importantly, a wonderful afternoon was had by all.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped organise, support and make the day such a success. Already looking forward to year 5! 💙✨

Fran has now made it past Ashbourne, where he was met by a small group of St. Paul’s pupils who joined him for part of the journey and helped lift the spirits! 👏
With just 67km to go out of an unbelievable 337km, the finish line is in sight!
