5th Class enjoyed a fantastic trip to The Solstice Art Gallery to view the Surveyor exhibition currently on display. Guided by Deirdre Rogers, The Solstice’s Visual Arts Facilitation & Engagement Officer, the children used Visual Thinking Strategies to analyse and discuss the work of two artists in the exhibition. Mr. Conlan’s class learned about the Sámi people of northern Scandinavia through the work of local artist Mette Sofia Roche. They also had a detailed look at “The Starlings of Nobber”, a a painting by Michael Corrigan.
The Surveyor exhibition runs in The Solstice until 23rd November and who better to guide you than our 5th class pupils!
