Attached are some activities that your child can complete over the course of the school closure, if you wish. This is not mandatory. Any practice of the phonics sounds that have been covered will be very helpful. Reading of any sort, or discussion of storybooks will be a fabulous way to spend the time at home. Also, reading and writing tricky words covered so far will give your child a huge boost over the closure. There is no need to continue on to any new material, which we have not covered in school yet. We will have plenty time when we return to school.
Twinkl and Nessy have offered free subscriptions to any countries with closures. Oxford reading tree also contains many books, games and resources and is free to access. Additional useful apps include:
- Jolly Phonics
- Phonics Fun
- King of Maths
- Teach your monster to read
- Reading eggs
- Splash Maths
Stay safe and happy learning,
Junior and Senior Infant teachers.
