4th Classes recently completed a unit of work with the First Lego League! Weekly lessons included use of the Lego Spike kits. These kits allow children to motorise the models and control them with easy coding through bluetooth hubs and the connected motors.  The kit also contains other items that can be coded to perform different actions such as lights and a colour sensor.

The lessons focused on the topic Superpowered! But not your usual marvel superhero, this topic concentrated on how we power our homes. We looked at the energy journey from source, storage, distribution and consumption.  We thought about sustainable and more efficient ways to perform parts of the energy journey.  Finally each group completed a project on an invention that would make part of this energy journey more sustainable or more efficient.  This included building a lego model and including some moving, codable parts!  We had great fun doing this project.
