Hi all,
This message is for those children from 5th and 6th who expressed an interest in playing in the school Grúpa Ceoil.
Please follow the link below for two audio files for The Kerfunten jig. The first clip contains some brief instructions on reading the music and the second file is for you to play along with as you practice.
You will notice that the song is split into two parts. There is a low part and a high part. The low part is played twice and the high part is played twice.
When reading the music you will notice that there are upper and lower case letters used. The capital letters are for the lower register, the small letters are for the higher notes.
Lastly, you will see the number 2 written after some notes. This means the note is held for 2 beats of the bar. Listen and play along to the audio recording and see how you get on.
We will be calling people to audition over the next week. Best of luck!
Mr. Conlan and Ms. Foy
