Aidan Dockery visited our school this week as part of the Heritage Ireland scheme.  He held workshops in the library all week for children from 3rd to 6th class.  Aidan’s exhibition of books, memorabilia and story telling went down tremendously with all children and adults in our school.  He had a wide range of books and artefacts on display and a story for everyone! His memory is incredible and he made connections with every teacher and class.  In 3rd Class Tom Flanagan told him about his uncle Colm Coyle who played for Meath in the 1996 All Ireland.  Aidan remembered not only Colm, but an incredible final minute kick that led to an important equaliser! He also had 2 of the programmes for that year – the original game and the replay! This is just one small example of how Aidan entertained us this week!
