Maths Week – CALMAST

The 16th-24th October marked the return of Maths Week, an annual occasion in the school calendar. Staff and students alike were excited for a week of events and activities, celebrating Maths all around us. Displays went up throughout the school reflecting the children’s work while quizzes and Maths games became part of the day! Mr. Conlon’s 5th class provided a daily riddle and some Maths jokes over the intercom which kept us all very amused! There was also a competition to guess how many packets of sweets could fit in the tub. The correct answer was 74 which was guessed correctly by Mr. Hoey’s 1st class. Maths trails were completed inside the building and throughout the grounds of the school. Maths TV proved a huge success with Mrs. Gibbons’ 5th class winning a puzzle during a live webinar. Their prize should be arriving soon in the post! All classes were busy and a fun filled week was had by all!
