A massive well done to all the pupils who participated in the Navan Choral and Instrumental Festival this past week.
On Sunday 30th April the violin ensemble performed here in the school in the category ‘Junior and Beginners Ensemble’. Thank you to their teacher Jeanette Foy and accompanist Ms. Kerins. They performed two beautiful pieces “Gaelic Gold” and “Rumpety Rumba” and scored a wonderful 95/100, earning high praise from the adjudicator. He said they had “a wonderful sense of ensemble, style and conviction… Very enjoyable and great understanding of dynamics“. They took the prize in their category, which is a great honour for the school. Well done everybody!! You can see the pupils involved in the ensemble in this short video created by their teacher HERE.
On Wednesday 3rd May the school choir performed in the Primary School category of the choir competition. Their dedicated vocal coaches, Ms. McLoughlin (conducting) and Ms. Kerins (accompanying on piano) have taken them from beginners earlier this year to a very polished group of performers. They sang beautifully on the day, again garnering praise for their passion and receiving a high score of 86/100. You can watch the beautiful rendition of ‘éist a stór’ and ‘Go the Distance’ HERE.
