We had a wonderful first ever Positive Thinking Day on the 15th October 2021. This is one of the many activities we will be undertaking as we work towards obtaining our Amber Flag.
The children (and teachers!) wore yellow and brought in €2 in aid of Pieta House and Jigsaw Meath. We raised an AMAZING €1300! The bright, sunshine colours were very uplifting to see on the yard!
We filled our avenue full of positive quotes and yellow balloons to get everybody thinking positively from the moment they stepped inside our school gates. After filling our minds with such positivity on the walk in, we then danced the morning away to many uplifting songs and Mr Hoey got us all excited for the day ahead..
To get the mood going we had an early ‘drop everything and dance’ before little break.
Mindfulness colouring for some relaxation…
Yoga to help us chill..
A local Simonstown Club player very kindly created 2 suitable Yoga sessions for us all to try – we loved it!
Bubbles of Gratitude
After listening to The Gratitude Jar , we realised that there are so many things to be grateful for each day. The boys and girls had no problem filling up their bubbles with things they were grateful for in their life!
Team Building and Co-operative Games
As the saying goes….
TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK!!!!!
An extra trip to the PE Hall for some more movement…
We already can’t wait for Positive Thinking Day 2022! 🙂
We would like to thank the parents for supporting this worthy cause, and all the teachers and school community for helping out.
